The Salvation Army of Vincennes is preparing for the upcoming school year with its annual “Stuff the Trailer” campaign. Corp. Officer Captain Joey Gates says the 3 day drive will collect classroom supplies for teachers across all three Knox County school districts.
“We are actually doing this for all three school districts in Knox County. Last year we just did Vincennes. This year we wanted to open it up to make sure more teachers could get help they need. And so we’re always looking for sponsors. We’re looking for people who want to volunteer on that day to help collect, businesses to do collection drives, that kind of stuff, because we have a lot of teachers here in Knox County, and we want to help as many as possible.”
Collection dates at the Vincennes Walmart are July 31 from 3 until 7 p.m., August 1 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., and August 8 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Organizers are also seeking volunteers, business partners and sponsors.
