A local nonprofit dedicated to preventing bullying and supporting victims will host a charity car wash this weekend to raise funds for its programs and services.
Allies Against Bullying will hold the fundraiser Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Memering Motorplex, 1949 Hart Street in Vincennes. The cost is $5 for cars and small trucks and $10 for large trucks. Donations will also be accepted.
The organization, launched in Indiana in 2025, is a 501(c)(3) public charity focused on anti-bullying education, prevention and intervention. Its mission is to bring together parents, educators, mental health professionals, law enforcement and community leaders to help end bullying and provide support for children, adults and families. Its efforts include education and awareness, early intervention, school climate improvement and trauma-informed support. Founder and President Tina Bangerter says it has reached more than 2,500 students, worked in seven Vincennes schools and operates entirely through volunteers.
Bangerter says the fundraiser will help continue providing resources, support and educational programs while raising awareness about the impact bullying can have on individuals and communities.
