Today marks 15 years since the disappearance of former Indiana University student Lauren Spierer.
Spierer was 20 years old when she vanished during the early morning hours of June 3rd, 2011, after a night out in Bloomington. She was last seen near the intersection of North College Avenue and West 11th Street. Her disappearance remains unsolved.
Bloomington Police say the investigation is still active.
Indiana Public Media, reports that in the past year, detectives have followed up on 23 new tips and conducted multiple interviews.
Journalist Shawn Cohen, who wrote a book about the case, says he continues to receive information from people who may have knowledge about what happened. He says new tips still arrive regularly and investigators believe there are individuals who know more than they have shared.
In a social media post marking the anniversary, Spierer’s family said they will never stop searching for answers.
